How you can help at JWOC

Building the capacity of people to make positive changes is a central aim of JWOC. JWOC welcomes International volunteers that can offer particular skills that will leave a lasting impact on the people and communities we work with.

Who are JWOC looking for?

We are looking for volunteers who can commit from 2 weeks to a month or several months and the volunteer must have a passion for developing people and organizations. We accept individuals who can share their relevant experience with our local team and scholarship students in an effective and sustainable manner.

What will I be doing?

Every volunteer brings a different set of skills which we will match to our three different Programs — Scholarship, Free Classes and Community Support (or in Communications).

Volunteer “Fees”

JWOC does not charge fees for volunteers who come to work with us, however we do encourage our volunteers to fundraise for JWOC's Programs and activities at home to enable us to continue helping in the community. The volunteer can choose which part of JWOC’s work they wish to contribute to when they make the donation.

What is the next step?

If you are interested in volunteering at JWOC please send an email to education@jwoc.info with:
  • A full resume
  • A covering letter explaining why you want to work with us, what skills you can bring and how the organization will benefit from your time with us.

Please note that depending on the volunteers work interests you may be asked to provide appropriate references and a police record check (or the equivalent depending on your nationality) before starting the volunteer placement with us. We also welcome volunteer groups — please email us with the purpose, date and number of people that would like to attend and we can organize your time here at JWOC. We ask that at least one member of the volunteer group takes the role of the leader and as such responsibility for the group.

JWOC consistently evaluates its projects to ensure that they are maintaining a high standard and meeting the needs of the local communities. You can help by donating today, joining the JWOC family, fundraising, or volunteering.
